In March, 2007, the band relocated to a cabin in Mount Charleston, Nevada and began writing their second studio album, Cricket & Clover.
After the Nothing Rhymes with Circus Tour finished, Panic! took a short break, before beginning to work on their second studio album. Panic! would begin another headlining tour, called the Nothing Rhymes with Circus Tour only three months later on November 7th, and would wrap on December 9th. On June 6th, 2006, Panic! began their first headlining tour, which would last until August 8th. After being kicked, Wilson was replaced by bassist Jon Walker. On May 16th, 2006, Panic! announced that Brent Wilson will no longer be a part of Panic! At The Disco, Spencer Smith would later explain their decision, stating: "We made the decision based on Brent's lack of responsibility and the fact that he wasn't progressing musically with the band." Smith also explained that Wilson never wrote any songs for A Fever You Can't Sweat Out, nor played bass for any of the songs present on the album.
Sales were slow at the start, with around 10,000 albums being sold within the first week of the album's release.įour months after the albums release, Panic! would release the music video for the song I Write Sins Not Tragedies, which would begin climbing the Billboard Hot 100 and would help A Fever You Can't Sweat Out reach 500,000 album sales. 1 on the Billboard International Heatseekers charts. 6 on the Billboard Independant Album charts and No. Their debut album A Fever You Can't Sweat Out was released on September 27th, 2005 and it debuted at No. They had already recorded some pieces of the album before the relocation, but finished the rest of the album after the relocation. The album was recorded from June to September, 2005. Now that Panic! was signed to Decaydance Records, they relocated to College Park, Maryland to record their debut album. Wentz then decided to sign Panic! to his Fueled By Ramen imprint label Decaydance Records (now known as DCD2 Records). Wentz, who was in Los Angeles, California, recording Fall Out Boy's second album decided to drive Las Vegas, Nevada to meet Panic! After meeting Panic! they played some songs for Wentz, impressing him. One day, Urie and Ross decided to send a demo of their music to Fall Out Boy's bassist Pete Wentz. One day during rehearsals, the band was impressed with Urie's vocal talents and made the decision to replace Ross, who was the singer at the time with Urie. The band began rehearsing music in Smith's grandmothers living room. Panic! At The Disco was formed in 2004 by Ryan Ross and Spencer Smith, and would later go on to include Brent Wilson and Brendon Urie.
